Fall and cooler temperatures are just around the corner. It's time to start thinking about family photo shoots. Be sure to share with your friends and family.
New Glasses
I had to take a trip to the optometrist last week for my annual check up. While there I ended up getting a new pair of sun glasses. I got a little board so I thought I'd try my hand at creating a piece of art similar to something that I had seen at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. The hotel had a series of photos that featured things dipped in chocolate. Here is my version inspired by that series of work.
Travel Photos
Anytime I book a trip to a new place I do a google image search for photo hotspots or must see landmarks. I love visiting places like 500px.com that are full of incredible images. This is a great source for inspiration that helps me put together a list of must see locations. However, in doing this, I have found that the online images rarely match what you find in reality. I have found that in many cases it takes a good deal of photoshop afterwards to match the vision that has developed in my head of what the photograph "should" look like as a result of this research. Here are some examples from a few recent trips. I've included the pre-photoshoped images to compare the changes that were made.
Some times these changes can be very time consuming, but in my opinion the final piece of art is well worth the effort.
New Family Portrait
Last week I set out with the family to update our family portrait. We try to do this frequently, so everyone is pretty used to the process. For whatever reason the kids were super uncooperative this go round. I was only able to get one decent shot, and even that one I had to replace three of the four faces due to blinking, crying and even a derp face. I think the result was pretty good especially given the situation. If you're thinking about updating your family photos give me a call or shoot me an email, I'd love to help.
Beautiful Julia
I set out with the family this evening to try and take some new family photos. Unfortunately the kids were being super uncooperative. Amidst the chaos, I was able to get a great shot of my beautiful wife.
Rings
While researching inspirational shots for a recent engagement shoot. I came across a few ring shots that I liked. I had some down time this past weekend so I gave them a go. Here are the results.
Catherine and Colton's Engagement Session
I recently had the pleasure to photograph this couple's engagement shoot at the Boojum Tree Hidden Garden. They were great to work with and troopers as it was over 100 degrees that day. Enjoy!
Happy 4th!
Hope everyone has a happy forth of July. Here's one of my favorite firework photos.
Facebook Love
The guys over at Artisan State featured two of my photos from New York City this past week. It's always cool having someone like your photos enough to feature them on their site.
The Future is Dark
Here is an all black version of the new Jordan Future.
